Ethan Goldblatt

Design / Development

Ethan was born and raised in Berkeley, California. He spent his youth exploring the cities, woods, and waters of the Bay Area and beyond; he has always been fascinated by the confluence of the built and the natural. His architectural studies were a logical progression of that interest. Ethan recently earned a Master of Architecture degree at Portland State University. Ethan was the recipient of the 2023 Will Bruder Fellowship, which funded research in Taiwan and Singapore.

Ethan brings over a decade of hospitality expertise to Waechter Architecture. He learned the ins and outs of back-of-house operations during his time spent working as a cook and bread baker. More recently, Ethan managed bars and restaurants in Oakland, CA and Portland, OR, where he learned to appreciate both the overarching operations and the finest details of the hospitality industry. He brings that same curiosity and knowledge to every project at WA.

In addition to his role as a designer, Ethan helps lead business development at Waechter by building community and cultivating new relationships. Ethan is always open to new conversations, so feel free to reach out to him if you want to start one.
